Would this be a good starter set up?

Looking for a proper CO2 unit and I have found this http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.p ... ts_id=1047 it will be used on a 180 liter tank using Easy life East carbo.

Ive not used that kit but it seems pretty good, and certainly a good price for what you get.

For a 180 tank Id be tempted to go with the refillable cylinders though as a 600g disposable cylinder isn't going to last long at all!

So I would need a 4.8 kg bottle to really make any head way?

For you size tank FE would be recommended.

FE is definately the way to go, but even a 2KG bottle would last a few months. Have a word with Dan Crawford on here, he sells the 2KG ones for about £24 delivered I think, not sure how much the 5KG ones are, but I think they are a bit harder to get hold of.

I've used them several times for 2kg ones, as have several other people, they have always been very good.

Would the Aquili set in the link work with a FE?

I'm 99& sure it would fit an FE as it says its supplied with an adaptor that allows refillable co2 cylinders to be used which have the same thread size as FE's 🙂
