Will this recover??

Carpet was looking quite heavy so i went to town with the trimming, might have gone too deep maybe , will this recover?

Yes it will invariably grow back. Best to keep on top of water changes. I would do a 50% water change every day for the next week. Use a siphon to remove detritus. Also, replanting can be a good alternative to deep trims.
