White growth on chilli rasbora

Another fish post as I finally have the time.

A while back one of my chili rasboras started to have a white patch on it's body and subsequently it turned into bubble like growths or tumours. Finally the fish became bloated and died.

Decided to ask out of curiosity as this does not seem to match the symptoms of ich or flukes.

Agreed. I have old fish with huge tumours, feed and even display, and carry on for months, then within a day or two develop secondary fungus and be in fish heaven within a week or two. However, having said that, if several fish of different ages and species develop fungus I would suspect a water quality issue. Lost a really magnificent female platy last year, she was quite some age, she was originally fry in my main tank, rescued. Huge dorsal tumour for the last months of her life, but then fungus, died within a week or so but was still energetic enough to escape my attempts to catch her and end her slow death, unlike some deformed youngsters she had good maneuverability.
