I am not sure if this should be in the diy section or aquascaping, so thought i would try it here.

I notice that a few people put polystrene underneath there rocks on scapes. I am going to be doing a new scape shortly and it will include a quite a few rocks and was wondering where people get there polystyrene sheets from?

I know wickes do a 25mm one but thought that would be a bit OTT. any ideas?

hi Dan_CR4,
They do this as well, so you can build up a few layers;

you can also use polystyrene ceiling tiles with some tape to keep them in place as you put the tank on, or a camping karrimat, that's what I used;

You can see where the cats have been digging at it, but can't under-mine it like polysyrene I've used before.:eek:

cheers phil

Edit - comprehension fail - Just realised it is for under rocks, not the tank.:oops:

I'd pop to somewhere that uses it for packaging ie tv's your local aquatics place as most tanks are surrounded in it on delivery. Or pop to your local grocers and ask if they can spare a broccoli box that what I get for posting shrimp. Just cut break the box up the lids are perfect.
