Where can I take latin lessons?

Hi everyone,

I'm totally new to aquariums and all things aquatic. I'm learning a lot very quickly though thanks to forums such as this. One of these seems to be latin. Having just started to get my head around the Animalia kingdom I'm now throwing the Plantae kingdom into the mix too. Somehow I seem to be learning a bit about geology too...

I'm currently preping my first tank ready for planting. God help whatever living thing is unfortunate enough to go in there!

Hi all,
Type the scientific (latin) name into Google, that should give you a link to a web site (Wikipedia is usually OK) with a common name (common names may vary from region to region), and a plant family.

Try <"Limnobium laevigatum">

<"IFAS"> is a useful site.

A source like <"Field identification of the 50 most common plant families in temperate regions"> will give you the characteristics for each family.

I thought there might be a bit of crossover in membership with PFK. I've read so much contradictory advice across the various aquarium sites in the last few weeks I just go with the general consensus now. That said, I'm relying on you to set me straight if you spot any horrendous cock-ups in the making on my PFK blog.
