Hi all, I have been pondering over this for some time now but unsure on what substrate to use.
I have all my gear ready, large Fluval 306 external canister filter, a large CO2 bottle and system, Fluval Plant and Life 2.0 LED, 25KG of dragonstone and Redmoor wood.
With that in mind and the reddish colour on both the wood and stone should I be going for a darker substrate?
I have been looking at combining Tropica's plant substrate (base) and Soil and/orSoil Powder (cap), I need this to be around 20-25CM deep at the back of the tank.
I see that a lot of Tropica's layouts use only the substrate and cap with sand or gravel. I have not found any info on using both but feel I will be giving the plants a good stable start but is this a bit unnecessary?
Thanks,
Matt
