What Peas/Beans Are Suitable To Feed Fish?

I've recently started feeding my fish frozen peas. I've been wondering since theres loads of different peas/beans what ones are suitable? What about peas and beans that are in tins, they would be in some sort of preserveative right? Good or bad for fish? Can it be washed of or is it to late because they've been soaked in the preserveative for ages?
