Hi all,
My bn never touches the anubia in 4 years.
If you give Ancistrus enough green veg. (Capsicum, Zucchini etc) normally they don't. Echinodorus bleheri is their <"salad leaf of choice">.
There’s GSA on some of the leaves and tissue degradation with yellowing so I would say the tanks run out of available Phosphate.
They do look like they might be a bit nutrient deficient. It may also be a <"bit bright for them">.

If @chrisjohnson could fill in the details Hoggie (@GHNelson ) <"asked for"> it might help steer us in the right direction.

cheers Darrel

Pretty sure it's not a nutrient deficiency.

1. Size of tank- 99cm x 40 x 40
2. Age of the system approximately. 2 years in current home. 3 years in previous house.
3. Tap water parameters. Ph about 7.8. Never test anything else. However I do no my nitrates are around 40ppm water source.
4. Filtration. External aqua one oscillaris 850
5. Lighting and duration. Standard lights bought with tank. On from 5pm til 10pm
6. Substrate. Jbl manado from maidenhead aquatics. With a layer of something underneath.
7. Co2 dosing or Non-dosing. no co2
8. Fertilizers used + Ratios. Currently using easy life profito. Bit hit an miss. Average 2times per week.
9. Water change regime and composition. 50-60% every other week.
10. Plant list. Crypts and Anubias.
11. Inhabitants.
12. Full tank shot & Surface Image

There’s likely enough turnover of phosphate around the root zones of plants with feet in the substrate to keep them happy but the water column may be depleting where epiphytes need it.

There’s a high chance the BN could be slurping on the leaves and causing physical damage but what attracted it to do this is may be that the leaves are struggling and becoming more appetising.

My tank ran out of Phosphate recently and GSA was the punishment along with deteriorating epiphytes.

That Anubia leaf is on its way out, if there was a BN in the tank it looks quite appetising. The Buce was the first to show displeasure but the Crypts appear to be getting some continued but diminishing supply from the substrate.
