Weeping moss is making me weep.

Hi all.

I set up a new tank 3 weeks ago, plants only at the Mo. It's a 90l with 2x24w T5, DIY Co2 and ADA amazonia substrate. I purchased from TGM some bacopa australis, parvula, xmas moss and weeping moss. I've been modestly dosing with TPN+.

I've had superb growth in all except the weeping moss. When it went in it was a lush healthy looking green, and within a few days it had started to brown slightly. I thought this could be as a result of dosing easy carbo as I have experienced a similar reaction in the past with java moss so I knocked the EC on the head and switched to DIY Co2. It has continued to deteriorate and now at around three weeks it has all died completely. The Xmas moss on the other hand looks great and has filled out far better than I expected it to in this short time.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem?

Cheers,

What tempreture is your tank? At the best of times I find that mosses melt down before picking up again.

Temp is 24c. I know what your saying about moss having a tendency to melt but this is totally dead now, no green left at all. Just strikes me as odd that the Xmas moss is thriving.

Take it out, place in a small tub and then just monitor it there.
Ive had mosses die on me and now I keep around 10 tubs of mosses growing in the kitchen.

Drives my wife mad 🙂
