Hey guys, so I'm setting up my first scape with co2 injection.
Anyways, I have using a jewel rio 240 and must use the built in filter to
help my TT 600. Don't have the budget to upgrade filtration now.

Anyways, do you think the below plan would work?
And other advice would be appreciated, I'm flying blind here.

You will not have enough flow...end of..been there tried it...bought a JBL1501.

I have a Juwel Vision 180 with the 600lph internal filter. I thought I could get away with just the internal filter (and power head) by making a spray bar across the back of the tank, knowing you will not get any measurable flow across the width of the tank (like in your diagram).

For testing, before making a proper job out of black PVC tubing, I made some spray bars from some 16/22 & 12/18 PVC tubing (1m lengths Ebay). Complete failure, the Juwel pump does not handle pushing water, the flow was considerably reduced to a trickle and certainly would not manage pushing water from back of tank, across the top, down the front and back.

So £150 Zooplus for JBL1501. Job done.

If you are using CO2 you will need a flow like in my videos below. Even this was not enough, there were places in the tank where I could place a drop checker and it would remain blue and plants would get covered in green algae pretty quickly, indicating poor CO2 levels. This was sorted with a 3200lph power head.

I am sorry, but if you are intending to go high tech with CO2 and high light on your 240litres, your flow is a factor 4 too low. You will not be able to achieve decent CO2 distribution leading to melting/dying plants, due to lack of CO2 in high light, with corresponding algae blooms.

So I am looking into setting this up with a Dophin 2400lph canister.
Do you recon this would be too much flow, for the fish I mean?
Also what kind of lighting are you running on that setup by the way?

2400l/hr should be ok. Just make sure spraybar covers all the back of the tank or else you will get dead spots.

My lighting is the standard Juwel 2x35W T5 HO tubes. Works fine, now settled in at full light output and algae free.
