Using a marine dosing for freshwater

Hi - may sound like a dumb question but since I know nothing about marine tanks, is there any reason why I couldn't use a marine auto-dosing system on my freshwater planted tank? Are marine ones more accurate and therefore more expensive? I want an autodoser to take over my EI dosing with macros/micros alternating daily and one rest day. I see that some products are marketed as marine auto-dosing systems but they tend not to say that they can also work on freshwater.

They all work the same. Might be that ones aimed at marine are more accurate - but you can anlways establish that by looking at the specs provided, which will usually give you a +/- % figure.
