Hello fellow scapers,

It's been a busy few weeks of late, and we now have information worth updating folks on...

With well wishes, the founders of UKAPS formally signed over ownership of the Society to the members in mid-November. And now, after jumping through an extraordinary number of hoops, the UKAPS bank account has been approved and is active.

These are giant milestones and they mean that we can move forward with moving balances and direct debits over to the Society account, which will complete the final step of the Society ownership process. This allows us to set up a commercial PayPal account and subsequently restart donations and open Society Membership, with details in our recent Constitution Thread. Coming soon!

It's a big step towards a positive, transparent and sustainable future for this community.

Over the past weeks the Committee and Moderators have received an abnormal number of reported threads and concerns raised, and so we will soon be reissuing the Rules and Guidelines and Privacy Policy for users to read and confirm agreement once again. UKAPS is an amazing community of individuals with a common interest in aquascaping and the aquarium hobby, and it is clear that most of the community would like to focus on that, so we have made amendments to reflect that.

As UKAPS continues to develop, the Committee welcome any suggestions or feedback you might have for the Society and the Forum, please do Direct Message us and help build the future of our amazing little community.

Take care and fingers crossed for a few lovely aquatic gifts under the tree!

Cheers,
UKAPS committee.

Following recent instances where the editing of old posts has created problems, the team have taken the decision to limit the time frame that folks can edit their own posts.

In future, the editing opportunity will be limited to 24hrs. We're confident this allows sufficient time to correct any errors, which was the purpose of its introduction, while maintaining historic post integrity.

Should you ever wish to make a change after 24hrs the moderating team are able to help. Please make sure any such request is worthwhile, the team really won't be responding to punctuation requests! 😃

Keep scaping 🙏
