tv question

i know this is not a tank question but my aquarium has a lid i wish to go open top
now the thing is i have a wall mounted tv about 10 inches above the tank if i take mylid of and have it open top will water vapors go into the tv

Hmn. I'd be cautious to be honest. Also, you might get light cast upwards onto your screen which could be annoying.

Any kind of humidity is bad for electronics. I've been to the amazon on an expedition a few years back. The humidity there managed to kill my iPod and my phone and people's cameras!

You can get weatherproof TVs intended for outdoor use; maybe you could replace it with one of those. They're not cheap though. 🙂

I remember hearing a story about someone who's TV was above a mantle piece. His wife decided to put tea lights on the mantle which managed to melt the bottom of the TV! 🙄

I would have thought the "glare" from the tank below the TV as well as movement below the TV (fish swimming, plants wafting) would be a major distraction when watching TV. I have a 8" digital picture frame below the TV and that can be distracting ie the movement when the picture changes.
