I'm still thinking about stocking, but I did decide on a school of Trigonostigma hengeli (I think this is Glowlght Rasbora?) over the weekend. The 20-strong clan are settling in, and I'll get some pictures of these little fish once they stop being so skittish.

They are another active and funny bunch, tightly sholaing in some cases and definitely like to occupy the top and middle of the tank when not hiding in plantation. They are fairly ambilivant to other fish (large molly, black phantoms) and just move around the tank. 20 of them just seem like an understocking in a 250L aquarium, and I suspect that size will need to double with new intakes over the next month. They are not going to get big, so they make a nice (almost neat) carpet of fish to admire. My current challenge is that my water is not always soft (pH of 6.5 to 7.6 depending on CO2) and the strong light. But there are oodles of leaves covering the surface, so I will monitor it. These are the second set of backwater fish to enter the tank.

Bob (my currently single Green Neon Rasbora) is a little put out as the clan has found him quite inspirational and do tend to follow him (en masse) when they get sight of him - much to his complete dismay and annoyance. (Like an uncle with an unwanted tribe of nephews).

I've got a little group of 11 of these too, really good shoaling fish.

Small word of warning, they're jumpers! originally I bought 9 and 4 of them jumped out in the first few weeks then the others seemed to get used to tank and chill out a bit. I later bought another 6 and they quickly joined the existing shoal and settled in right away.

They look a little like Harlequin Rasboras, are they the same species with a different colour morph? 250l is a lot of space for 20 😛
Yep, I think that 20 will become 40 at some point. And as @MoFish says, they are not going to turn into monsters unless I find some good old steroids. 😀

OK, its hard to get the little monkeys as they are still settling in. Have a small video of my Black Phantoms and the new rasboras at the end! It's not Speilberg!

They’re charming little fish and are roughly the same size as Trigonostigma espei (Lambchop rasbora) but where the T.espei have more of the coppery colouring then either of the other two species, hengeli have only a narrow copper stripe above the black stripe with the rest of the body being hyaline.

They’re a lovely little nano size species that are very nice to keep.
