I'm looking for a quiet little pump that will circulate maybe 10lph maximum, salt water. Not sure what this type of pump would be called so basically need help with the terminology. But, if you have experience and advice at the same time that would be a great help too.

I was thinking a little indoor water ornament pump or something?

At that flow rate, you'll need to be inventive.

Peristaltic (dosing pumps) could deliver that rate but will be noisy and I doubt most are rated for continuous use.

Miniature diaphragm/vacuum pumps would also work - but probably not the best use. I have an old diaphragm pump in the shed that I used to use to lift RO water upstairs. It will lift 100ft but only 26.5 litres a day!

I also have a small 12v pump in my bits box. (Widely available on eBay for £4-5). I think it's rated at 240l/hour but should be easy to limit with a standard PWM controller. You're welcome to it if interested.

Regards, Mark
