Hi Gang would like too give you some tips l have learned along the way.......
1. Damp!!!!!.......if you have a big Discus open topped tank use a de humidifier.
2.HIGH Tec is too much for working people ....
3.use a good German filter....with spare parts on hand.
4.filter with the right flow important on Big tanks ....no dead space's.....
5.buy fish in bulk....discount.
6.always if you can Quarantine your new fish ....big time for very expensive Discus.
7.use the Right PH garden soil to save a lot of money... But lock it in.....!!!!
8.ask for help.....find a good friend....
9.very smelly algae..... Bloody horrible ....poor filtering.... Low O2....wrong balance.
10. New tank syndrome.... Use someone, s tank old filter water to seed your tank ( someone you trust don't you local aquatic shops water???!!.).....also a small amount of human number ones has been used in the old days....?....Ammonia....mostly 95% water in urine
11.use plant nutrients in the soil more if you can....but some plants...like it in the water column.
12.don't fiddle around too much !for some this very difficult as you are looking for perfection.... My vicar said to me when l got married... Perfection does not exist... You can get close ....but it will always try to stop you...!!!
13. Some plants will never mix.....???its all to do with chemical, s they give out in the Natural world.
14.floating plant's are the key.
15. Try to enjoy....but just like life it has very many Ups and down's......
