Hi Crew
I thought this was interesting article for water loving fellow creatures and sea farers :jimlad:.

Brings back great memories  the above articles!
Sailing on this ship in the early 70s visiting my relations on the Isle of Bute....know as sailing......."Doon the Watter".
My sister still lives there... I occasionally visit her when I get a opportunity when I have holidays from work!
Anyway less of my babbling input!
The fair Queen will be restored with the donations of a charitable trust, one of the patrons is Robbie Coltrane.
I had to make a small donation of support!

That is great news...too many of these engineering wonders end up in the scrap yard and become distant memories for the people that knew/used them.

We're lucky to have the Great Central Railway - the UKs only mainline heritage railway - on our door step http://www.gcrailway.co.uk/

It's run by volunteers and over the years they've done some sterling restoration work to the stations and old steam engines...

I'm not particularity into railways etc but it's still a great day out and incredibly evocative of a bygone era.

Totally agree with you Troi!
All good for tourism in Scotland!
There is also the famous Waverley....the only sea going Paddle Steamer left in the world.
She also navigates these same waters, its a lovely sight.... its her 70th birthday this year so its a double celebration:clap:
