The secret to lush green Fissidens fontanus

Evening all,

Can anyone share the secret to lush green Fissidens fontanus with me? I've grown it a few times and although it grows, it always seems a bit dark and almost grey.

How do you achieve beautiful green growth like this?

Lots of shrimp, higher light and co2/ flow to match.
Dark green is the plant producing more chlorophyll to make use of low light normally.
Saying that it doesn't need masses of light as a slow grower to achieve lighter greens but IME does need to be direct.

Agree on the lighting bit. Ive got some growing in a low tech with just 3 watts of light directly over it and its doing great

Yep, light and CO2. The parts in the shade are always a little more dark. More CO2 also seems to make it greener.

Does it grow well with liquid carbon? I love this moss but really struggling with it.

Yes, but all other nutrients need to be proportional. So jacking up the amount of light alone will most likely only grow more algae😉
