Hi. Often times you can remove the top rim but the bottom one is often more structural / support oriented. I personally would not remove the plastic parts of an Arcadia Arc tank (I own one and have thought about it). I also have a larger tank that has a rim and a base surround and spoke to the manufacturers about removing them. They said I could remove the top one (as the tank has brace bars already) but that the bottom one should not be removed.
Great. Thats kind of what I thought. If only you could get an optiwhite, rimless version.
Might remove the top bits, and look at a clever stand design to hide the bottom.
