Hi All,

I'd be interested if anyone has experience of removing the plastic surrounds from aquaria

The front curved glass is a single piece with base and rear panel.
Any thoughts, including "don't do it".

Cheers

Hi. Often times you can remove the top rim but the bottom one is often more structural / support oriented. I personally would not remove the plastic parts of an Arcadia Arc tank (I own one and have thought about it). I also have a larger tank that has a rim and a base surround and spoke to the manufacturers about removing them. They said I could remove the top one (as the tank has brace bars already) but that the bottom one should not be removed.

Great. Thats kind of what I thought. If only you could get an optiwhite, rimless version.
Might remove the top bits, and look at a clever stand design to hide the bottom.

You could make the stand with a rim that the tank slides into from the rear. That way the rim could be such that it fits snug with the glass.
