Hello

I have my tank almost ready to bring my F1. During the cycling process I've leaved the air pump all day and night. Also the filter has been set up to send the water to the middle of the tank intead of the surface to promote fast water circulation in the tank.
I'm now not sure what to do with the air pum and filter output setup. It's my impression that caridines prefer calm water instead of fast moved water.. Am I correct in my assumption?

Would it be beneficial the air pump? If so how long can I turn it on enough to promote water oxygenation and not to disturb my shrimps much?

Shall I set up the output of my filter to the surface or set the multi-holes output to the middle of the tank creating go and fast water circulation?

Thanks for your comments

Thank you Alastair!

So my assumptions are confirmed 🙂 well in order to do a good use of the air pump... Probably I will set up an additional biochemical sponge filter (air powered)so I use the item and increase the filtration... What would happen if I stop the sponge filter during the night? Will it be ok taking into consideration that the external filter will be up and running 24*7 ? Or it needs to be running also 24x7?
