Swimming backwards?

Hi!

This is a really stupid question, but could platys be swimming backwards?

Why I'm asking is because I have found several platys dead inside a little airplane wing, and I have thought that they swam there to die - but now I'm thinking that it is perhaps the other way around i e they got stuck in there and could not turn or go backwards and died because of that...?

Are your platys can't even control swimming forward and backward? or only backwards?
How about the fish body? I mean is there some white spot on it or white hair?
You can read the fish article part of 'What symptoms will appear when fish become ich fish' to take a referrence, If you can post the image of platys it's more clear to know why.
