So I got myself an A361 and started wondering since it's of a rather dense layout, maybe I could swap out some of the LEDs for reds and blues just for better colour rendition rather than growth.

Has anyone done it before?

This seems to be a Chihiros A

Personaly i do not know these lights.. But it looks like a regular SMD led strip.. Probably DC12 - 24 volt, seeing the sense resistors on the strip it likely has no need for a constant current driver. The specs on the driver should reveal this. If it all aint glued in it should actualy be no problem to replace the strips with any other smd strip of simular dimension. 🙂

But most smd strips are simular in size, 10mm width, only the smd chip used is different. These go in mm, e.g. SMD5050 is 5x5mm chip, SMD5630 is 5,6x3 mm chip.

Btw do you see those 4 sqaure marking with the cross line every 3th led? These squares are the soldering pads and the strips can be cut at this line.
So i is possible to replace sets of 3 led sections with an other color and solder them together again in serie.. + pad to + pad and - pad to - pad with a little piece of wire. They should all be same voltage of course. And if you change the wattage, the power supply should be replaced accordingly.
