Hello all, looking for suggestion's for a suitable led clip on or over tank fitting for a 45x30x40cm low tech tank. I'm new to using led and although I have tried to find something both suitable and reasonably priced all I'v ended up with is a headache 😕. Thank's, Alex

although i'm not confident in the spec, i used an aquael decolight on a low tech type tank before, and it worked; I believe its 11 watt 🙂

also has a blue light on the same fixture!

Go for anything that gives you good overall coverage is around 6500K and above all else dimmable.
Try a search...there are a few threads with suggestions.

Hi Bex thanks for your reply. I see that you are using two of these in your tank , my tank is marginally shallower than yours at 30cm do you think it would be too bright in my tank? Also did you buy your's in the uk? as I can't seem to find a UK stockist , thanks again , Alex.

Hi Alex, I think they'd be fine over 30cm - the great thing is that you can dim them, so you have a lot of control over brightness. Your tank is wider than mine so I think you'd definitely need 2 otherwise you'd have some very shadowy corners (although you could plan and plant to work with that kind of light distribution) but 2 will give you plenty to work with. I also live in the UK but ordered mine from a french retailer, had no problems, delivery was tracked. You just need to use Google's translate page option - unless your french is good! One of the other members Parotet ended up using one on a 30cm cube, you can see the journal here
