Hey guys
I'm a newbie into the planted world and also to this forum - this is my first post.
First and foremost, thank you for any assistance you are able to afford and for sparing your time to consider my questions!
So... I have a custom built Maidenhead 180L tank (91 x 45 x 37cm).
I have a fluval 406 stocked with Biohome ultimate and I am currently waiting on my lilly pipes to arrive.
I have purchased my rocks, bogwood and redmoor root for the aquascape.
I am going to be investing in a pressurised CO2 system from CO2 Supermarket also.
I currently have 2x T5 35w Juwel Hi Lite day bulbs. I am considering investing in 2 further nature bulbs.
I am wanting to use ADA Amazonia. I've done hours of research and, generally, it appears the reviews are excellent.
These are my questions;
1) I appreciate difference of opinion - but what do people, who have used ADA, thinkt of it? Is it recommended?
2) I visited green machine and the guy (who was extremely helpful) recommended that I purchase powersand m special - advising if i use it with ADA amazonia, itll last forever as it won't compact. Is this true? Could I use the colombo substrate base instead? The powersand is very expensive, so I don't want to rush in and purchase.
3) Based upon my tanks spec, what are people's thoughts with respect to my ability to grow plants such as HC?
