I wanted to make journal initially but was too lazy to start it in time 🙂 So starting it now in retrospective 🙂

So around last xmass I got 55l leaking tank from my friend who gave up aquariums. Fixed it with silicon and decided to try some aquascaping. My gf wanted it to have some Stonehenge in it, I wanted to have just some rocks. After some debates we found a compromise to put small Stonehenge on one of the rocks 🙂 Also I wanted to try dry start method in it.
So in the beginning of January I did initial hardscape and planting:

Got some Hemianthus callitrichoides from other tank where it did not do too well:

Arcadia lights 2x24W mounted to the old tank top,
JBL CristalProfi e 401 filter,
DIY CO2 system based on citric acid and baking soda.

As you can see DSM did not do good results in all places. Some plants melted, some were ok...

first week of March I finally filled tank with water:

white sand for foreground was not a very good idea - it covered by some algae even during DSM.

Next day finally added Stonehenge made by my gf, and two trees:

in 3 weeks all - glass, rocks, sand were covered with some algae but plants seemed to grow well finally submerged:

After awhile I removed amano shrimps to another tank which required some cleaning...

And last Saturday this tank looked like this:

stick a yellow/orange light behind that maybe?
No space behind for a lamp... Anyway lamp is too much hassle 🙂 and with acrylic paint light from behind would give uneven colour - thickness of paint is uneven.
I will repaint it next time

Catastrophe! Tank back wall came off...
All inhabitants saved... But...

Stonehenge destroyed! 🙁
Ouch that must have been so deflating. When you say back wall do you mean the back glass came off? 😕
