Hello everyone!
I have a question regarding steam plants leaves grow back.
I have Alternathera Cardinals growing nice, but bottom leaves started to get an algae and a little bit melt and I have cut those leaves.
So my question is, will the plant grows leave back at bottom side or no?
I dont wont to do top replanting, because this plant does not live moving and unrooting.
Thank you in advance!

Either that, or you trim it close to the bottom and wait for it to grow again. This is more aggressive, but preserves the roots and could be better for some plants. It also promotes more bushy growth, since often you get more than one stem from the cut.

In my experience with chronically unhappy Althernantheras, replanting the top has been better, although I remember the 2hraquarist website recommending waiting for the base to grow back with these plants...
