Hi guys, got some of this growing fairly well now. I know it propagates by runners (least I think it does). Is it ok to give it a trim and re plant the tops? It's quite tall now but wanted to leave it till the roots bedded in.
Just for the record, Staurogyne sends off little shoots from the base of the stem. They can sometimes look like runners because they can grow along the substrate horizantally!🙂
Hi Martin
here is a good link of thread talking about staurogyne. there is good infos in it just go trough the whole thread. Tips on the perfect Staurogyne repens carpet | UK Aquatic Plant Society
i have planted since a week some staurogyne in my tank, and i have tried on some stems to plant them horizontally and it is working well. all the small sprouts on the stem are growing nicely and verticaly. so with one stem in stead of having one tip of plant i have 5 so it a good technic lol !! i ll put a pic of it to night !!!
