Right then, I may be asking some dumb questions as really coming from a just plonk it in and see school of growing, and haven't used anything other than t8 tubes before.

I will be putting together a 15" cube, bit wary of having it too high tech so likely I won't be venturing into CO2, at the moment I am just at the planning stage of what I am going to do.

I'm going to have to rig up some lighting solution for this as the tank doesn't have any, and so I figure its might be time to try LED, so I'm looking for some advice first to see if its feasible.

Looking at Alastairs choc puddle has inspired me on the sort of rig I am thinking off, and there was a link on there to these GU10 fitting LEDs.

So can anyone give me some pointers, what should I be aiming for please?

I know you mentioned you're looking at LEDs, but these are also worth a look-in Silver T5 Fish Tank Lighting Three Bulbs - All Pond Solutions

I've had one for around a year now, and it has been excellent. It has separate switches for 1,2 or 3 bulbs, so you could tailor how much light was necessary depending on your setup. You then have the option of providing more light if you decide to venture into the higher tech end of the spectrum.

My two pence 🙂

Good call, didn't realise that there were some overtank luminaires that went down to that small.
