Hi
I use an active substrate, tropica, and ei dose with the macro npk ferts from Aqua plant care but as their micro chelated fertz are stupid price compared to what i was paying and they never answer my emails i found Tec solufeed sodium free to use but dont know how much to put in 2 litres of water that i mix every month, does anyone have an idea of how much they dissolve in water as im sure the mix they suggest for terrestrial plants will be way too strong for the aquarium

Hi,
Any chance of slightly more info, size of tank, water change amount etc?
Cheers!
I have tanks of all sizes with the chelated mix i used to get from Aquarium plant ferts i used 10ml teaspoon per litre of water and then with that dissolved mix i used 10ml per 50l of aquarium every other day

I use solufeed 2:1:4. I mix 50g into half a litre of warm water and shake thoroughly until it’s well dissolved. I then dose it using an autodoser at a rate of 1ml per 10litre of tank water every day. That gives 1.5mg/l of nitrate every day.

I grow mostly easy plants under moderate light. Was using low level CO2 until recently. Substrate is just sand.

Oh hang on, you’re talking about micro nutrients. I also use their micro mix too but can’t remember the ratios off the top of my head. I shall figure it out later and let you know.

The Sodium Free TEC Micro has an extreme similarity in make up as the APFUK Micro that they sold before closing down. If no one else has worked it out for you, I will a bit later, but have to nip for a couple of hours.

I am still unsure what your original target values were, but 4.25g of Solufeed Sodium Free TEC dissolved in 1 litre of water and dosed 10ml/day, 7 days/week into 50 litres of water will give you a 0.5 ppm Fe weekly target (EI Dosing). For a 0.1 ppm target just add 0.85g to the 1 Litre of water following the same regimen above.

Do you front load RO when you water change?

Yes I do now. While I now pretty much abhor trimming and replanting stem plants (and cleaning pipe work), I do like to fiddle about and tinker. So, I now (with a recent complete rescape) remineralise with CaCl2, CaSO4, MgSO4, CaNO3, KHCO3 with a tad of NaHCO3. I also front load KNO3 and KH2PO4, and daily dose a small amount of Urea and the Micro.
Cheers!
