Has anyone used one of these?
I've got one and I'm just wondering how others have set it up, so a photo would be ideal!
I bought it for the 30cm cube, as the glass skimmers are too tall for the tank.

Hi,

No, I don't have one but I'm interested as I'm currently having problems with an oily surface film. Presumably, you've now got it set up? Are you using it on the inlet flow to an external filter? What internal diameter hose does it accept? Is it effective?

I did get it set-up, but I couldn't find the right tubing to make it look neat. It worked fine, but not as good as your classic skimmer. I like to put a piece of mesh on skimmers, so no big bits and fish go down, but you can't really do that with this design. I found a couple of fish and 4 shrimp in the filter the first time I cleaned it out.
The filter I use is an Oase 100 thermo. Hose ID is 12mm.

I managed to find a shorter glass lilly pipe, but it was quite expensive. It was the Evolution Aqua 12mm set. This only just about fits, but looks much better and I can put the mesh on top.

If you're not restricted with height, I would buy one of the cheap skimmers on eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/13mm-17m...hash=item4b67d8a744:m:mW1zdgylicr9YGbEpCIi1VQ

You can see it set-up here at the end of this video
