Small external heaters?

Does anyone know of any small external heaters? I am in need of a new heater for my 55L and would rather go external. But all the ones I find are a minimum of 200W which is a little excessive for a small tank.

If there are none what internal ones do you guys recommend? 🙂

A year or 2 back i looked into it for my 60x30x30 tank.. Nothing much to find other than the Hydor heaters or some heated cannister filters and all a bit overrated for such small volume.. So i decided to make one myself, which is the way i made it with a dc 12 volt 80 watt PTC cartridge heater not realy cheaper than buying and overrated Hydor.

But if you search YouTube King of DIY that Joey guy might have some ideas for you to convert a regular intank heater to an external one.. Never tried his idea but i see no reason why it shouldn't work. 🙂

A while ago I faced the same problem and couldn't find one. I then settled on a NEWA therm pro. They are expensive, but are built very well and are electronically controlled.

However, for my next tank I'm going for an external filter from Oase. They have many sizes and are available with an integrated heater!
