Shrimp tank?

Hey guys! 😀 I just bought a fluval chi for cheap (£40 I think it was, at Seapets?) and it's been running for 2 days now.

It is 19 litres / 5 US gallon and lives on my desk where it is blocked by my wardrobe so no light or wind can come through. I put pool filter sand in, along with some green slate and contorted hazel wood that I have in my garden.



After it has cycled and all that, I was going to turn it into a cherry shrimp tank with lots of plants (it kinda looks like a desert right now), but I was wondering if there are any good tank mates for shrimp e.g. I was thinking of the Celestial Pearl Danios/Galaxy Rasbora?

Snails are a good match. Seriously.

Fish will tend to eat baby shrimp and the dimensions of the tank really only make it suitable for shrimp (and snails ) anyway.

Thanks mate! I added river rocks and another java fern, but I will be adding a snail for the excess food. Any suggestions on which snail; I dont want much/any reproduction or eggs everywhere.
