When the shrimp molt their exoskeletons, is it OK to leave the skins in the tank or do I need to remove them?

A video on YouTube mentioned that the shrimp eat the skins but so far the ones I've seen just sit in the tank on the substrate.

It's ok and will be eaten eventually, or dissolve into plant food.

Yes indeed shed skins will devoured by the shrimp and snails. The only time.e you need to remove shed skins, is if they have the Saddle Fungus or Scull Symbiot worms.

If I find a decent looking whole one. I dry them out and keep them. I add them to my collection of dried and deceased fish.

Would removing shrimp exoskeletons reduce water hardness to any noticeable degree?? Presume it must do, just not sure how much!!
