Hey peeps,

Just wondering how long it generally takes for a baby shrimp to reach adulthood?

Just found nearly 30 in my prefilter, so i assume theres got to be a good 100 odd amongst the plants. Can see a couple "teenage" ones too. :woot:

"Breeding and Life Cycle of Neocaridina denticulata sinensis (Kemp, 1918)":

It takes 60 days for larvae to reach juvenile stage, where male and female were still undifferentiated. Juveniles become adults 15 days later.

Cool, thanks! Hopefully i'll have loads of mature shrimp in another month then :) didn't expect to rescue so many from the prefilter! So glad they can't go any further!

Just to add, I'm now a proud father too.:cigar: Once you get to know what you're looking for the tiny 2 - 3mm babies are easier to spot.
