Hi there.

I have a heavily planted mature 160l high tech tank with injected CO2. Life stock neon tetras and 2 gourami and 3 nitrile snails.

I have a Fluval 306 filter but the lilly pipe, co2 reactor and inline heater seem to have reduced the outlet flow and thus circulation a fair bit.

I have added a powerhead to circulate bit now between my lilly pipe inlet and the power head i'm worried adding shrimp will just be adding expensive shrimp paste fish food to the tank.

Options are somehow guard the power head and also put a sponge over the lilly pipe inlet, although this will further reduce flow..

Any suggestions please?

Kind regards

Since you have a planted tank, could probably get a surface skimmer like the ehiem skin 350 or its equivalent. Helps with circulation too

I passed on the fish.

Got rid of the powerhead and opted for dual external filters.

CRS are happy and the red cherry are breeding like rabbits
