Shrimp compatibility

Hi all!
I am thinking of getting 2 or 3 tiger shrimp for my tank. I already have a couple of Amano shrimp, and I wondered whether the two types of shrimp are compatible with each other and whether they will cross breed? Has anyone kept tiger shrimp before?

have a look at the latin names, im pretty shore you dont mix if they have the same 1st bit such as Neocaridina and Neocaridina , but you can keep Neocaridina and Caridinia

I've had a look and it looks like the first bit of the latin names are the same, oh well I guess i'll just have to get a few more Amanos then!

Cheers, if you're not sure about the names, there's a cross breeding table what you can use to identify this:

Amanos require brackish conditions for the offspring to survive, so I shouldn't think you'd be running any risk of crossbreeding, even if they were able to produce viable offspring.

I was more worried about if the Tiger shrimp had offspring of the Amanos and had an Amano-Tiger cross lol!

Thanks very much for that link Viktor, it doesnt look like the Amano will cross brred with any other shrimp, thats if i'm reading it correctly!

Yup we keep them with Tigers. No issues 😉
