Hi

I have just bought a new blue ram to add to my 180l tank. I already have 2 gold rams that I believe to be make and 1 blue ram that I am sure to be female. The 2 gold rams tend to chase her a bit, leading me to purchase a new blue ram that I was told is female to draw a bit of the two males attention.
I have had difficulty sexing them personally as they do not have obvious colours and arnt at a mature stage yet. I have posted a picture of each, please let help me sex them. I am concerned that the new addition is a male, likely adding more conflict to the tank.

Hiya mate, that's the problem these days sexing rams when they're young is difficult. I can't help you much with the gold rams but reckon the 1st picture of the German ram is a girl.
I can't tell what sex the fish in the bag is. If I'm being honest I can't even tell if its a German, gold or blue ram from that picture.

Easiest way to sex the German rams is to check the black spot thats on their side, the females tend to have glittering blue spangles inside the spot, whereas the males don't. You might have to wait a bit to see if the black spot appears on the new fish before you can make a positive id.

Picture below shows what a mean, the female is the one at the back, I've ringed said spot to look for.
