Hello everyone.....i am getting starting again after 10 years without a an aquarium. So i decided to do some shopping last week.
Need everything to restart.
My choice was the Superfish Scaper 90 tank. And lots of equipment. Was forgotten how many it needs to start again 😂🙈😂💶💶💶
The tank 60x40x38IMG_20221027_131642_(768_x_1024_pixel).jpgIMG_20221027_171912_(1024_x_768_pixel).jpg

CO2 equipment

Everything together.....and still missing some things.😂

First total.... but i skipped this idea after the water fill-up test. The wood is many years old and to dry. Strong floating it will take ages to soak.🙈

IMG_20221027_172125_(1024_x_1365_pixel).jpgIMG_20221027_172151_(1024_x_1365_pixel).jpg

So i find out some issues....the wood, and also the cabinet top is to week.

For the scape i will skip this idea. And will go for Iwagumi style, I love these scapes always. So the rocks are ordered even with the rest of missing equipment.
The top of the cabinet i will replace for some thicker and stronger one.
That is for the next post😁

There sure are a lot of bits that go into making a fully fleshed out high tech tank 😅
I had somewhat of a similar feeling, except I had put all of my aquarium "stuff" in storage for some years.
When I pulled it all out (there was what seemed like an actual ton of it), I didnt remember what half of the stuff was
I held the inline heater in my hand, squinting at it. "What is this, some sort of.. UV thing?"

Dont forget to buy 50 different suction cups that you dont know where came from or what they belong to! 😁

Excited to follow this journal

Thank you 😁
😂Yes, but i didn't had this problem now....i sold everything in the past or trew it away.
🤔 suctioncups......😂 Don't need them on this setup.....so if you're a suctioncups collector, let me know....i can send you the new one i got now 😂

Just bought the Scaper 90 set myself to set up after Christmas I won’t be using the HOB filter was going to go with a Seachem tidal 55/75 but now thinking about Oase Filtosmart 100/200 I’ll wait to see how it goes for yourself .

Nice, HOB filters are good for smaller tanks. Easy to maintain, no tubing and cheap. The Eheims are very good.

But i don't like the heaters. That's why i choose for the Filtosmart.

Why waiting....we aquascapers don't have patience 😂😂😂

Testing out the equipment.... looks like everything works ok. Light and CO2 is controlled by 2 smart plugs. So i can schedule them by the app on my phone.
Filter works nice and silent, little leaking in the beginning, but everything needs to settle first. The same for the CO2 diffusor in the tank. The bigger bubbles are now gone and fine bubbles hovering through the whole aquarium. I used it also to see how the circulation is with the skimmer lilypipe. And how strong the capacity is of the filter. I connected eheim valves to them for managing the current....but that is not needed. The filter capacity is ok when fully open the valves. The filter could be adjusted on the capacity also, but i prefer inline valves.
For now i am happy with the equipment.
Only i need to figure out how the skimmer is working. It seems the skimmer is to light, so i put a little "weight" on it. The edge of the skimmer is slightly under the water surface now and skimming the water surface correctly.

Glad i didn't give away the suctioncups, they are the temporarily "weight" for the skimmer (see bottom right, the black ones).😂

Me happy this evening 😁.

So thanks to Aquasabi Germany.
Extra info .....the sets are imported from Japan.

Let me know what set you prefer and explain why. I would like to hear some input from you too.

Yesterday evening it was scaping time....

The hardscape......i chosed the blacker set of stones. I didn't use all of the stones from the set.

The tank is running now for a few days. And i am very happy with all the equipment.
Everything is working how they should do.
The stainless steel set and diffusor works out more than i expected. The skimmer is just a really "must have". To adjust the skimmer needs a little practice, but finally its floating without bouncing around 😂
The filter capacity is just right. Maybe the heater is max for this tank size.

During the filling i make the rookie mistake, forgot to cover the plants🙈.....so a view HC are missing now. And replanting is not an option now. The roots need to grow first and the bottom will be more stable.
Its not the final scape. I want to add some other plants too. But for now it will run for a week or 3-4.
Tuning the CO2, water conditions stabilising, enjoying the hobby again.
I love it.
I will add an extra led light ... for covering the sides better.

And what about the invitro plants....much more better then the Rockwool in the past.
Cleaning of the "gel" is very easy and cutting in parts is nice job to do.
Planting in akadama soil is harder, but i know that from experience from the past.
Akadama is not so smooth as other soil.

Nough said, a few pictures now.....

Finally i found the time to place the tank into his final position. Replaced the top of the cabinet with a stronger one. And because of that i needed to drain the tank, i added the last stones.

Now luckily the HC is taken of now....i love to watch how the plants are developing. Sometimes with my nose pressed to the glass. But not only the HC like the new extra light i added to the tank....yes, algae are growing also. Always the startup is sometimes little frustrating.
But i like it, the equipment, the plants, the scape, the development, the view from the couch.
And the clearety of the glass, amazing. It is completely new experience for me this kind of glass.
Next week i hope the nitrate level is lowered and i can introduce the first members for the cleaning crew.

But now the new impression after more than a week.....

Today's update....the tank is doing well. And so i ordered my cleaning crew.
Amano shrimps and Otocinclus.
I love it, the development, better than watching tv😁
