I had 12 rummy nose tetra that were put in this tank from LFS about a 3 weeks ago. The tank itself has been setup for 2 months and is cycled, has external canister filter and is heavily planted with CO2 system.

I lost two within a week due to mysterious circumstances (just dead one morning) and now I have one of the remaining ten whose tail is turning white and the ends of it seem to be missing. I also have one other of the 10 that seems to be hiding away from the rest of the shoal, but otherwise seems ok.

The remaining 8 are all swimming and feeding very actively. I attach photo of the one with white tail (top in photo). It stays away from the rest of the shoal most of the time but sometimes joins them but seems tonnage trouble with its tail keeping up in the current.

Any ideas most welcome.

Sadly I suspect the fish have fin rot, probably brought on by either stress, and or poor water conditions.
How do we deal with it... unfortunately or fortunately... in the UK we don't have easy access to antibiotics, if we did we would simply reach for a broad spectrum antibiotic like Erythromycin, cross our fingers and pray.
The best we can do in the UK is treat with something like esha 2000 or something containing Malachite green.

Fingers crossed 🤞

Sadly the other tetra that was hiding away has died. I found it floating belly up an hour ago. The other one with the white tail is still struggling on.
