Hi all,
I'm looking to rescape my tank in two weeks. I bought kilo's of dragon stone (a bit too much actually) which has a red kind of mud / clay on it. As soil, I'm going to use Akadama. I read about using sphagnum moss peat but could find a place to buy it. It's also not that sustainable so I'm skipping that probably.
As an alternative , I wondered whether adding a bit of the red stuff to the soil might help the bacteria / plant growth. I rinsed the stones and set some apart should it be useful. I even considered baking it although my home oven obviously won't reach more than 250 degrees Celsius, I guess clay is baked way hotter.
So... does this make any sense at all or won't it do any good?
