After a few years over at the salty side, i'm returning to a planted tank.

Been given a 100cm x 45 x 45 set up which is only suitable for basic plant growth. Looking to upgrade the lighting but technology is moving faster than my brain!!!! Will also add CO2.

Any advice on lighting is much appreciated

Andy

Hi Andy,
You must be one of the longest serving members on here. 👍
Chihiros and Twinstar are popular and reputable lights but there is a massive choice out there at the moment and it's all going to depend on what's most pleasing to your eye. You also have the option of Point Source.
The best advice I can offer is to look at some of the numerous photographs on here until you find a rendition that you like and go with that.
Cheers!

I really like the Chinos AII series. They are way more affordable than others, are efficiently shipped, have great blue tooth control and do the job.

Thanks guys.

I really shouldn't be allowed to think!!!! I'm now thinking that the 1m tank might be a little big for me. However.....
I have a Red Sea 170 tank, cabinet and sump (approx 60 x 55 high x 50 wide) It was going to be for a reef but I feel this would be absolutely ideal for a planted tank.
I like the idea of a sump.....the tank is pre-drilled with all the pipework and a TMC 4000 return pump
