Restarting a new tank and going for my first real aquascape.

Hi guys,

It's been a while that I wanted to restart this tank (lenght : 70cm ; width : 30cm ; height : 45cm) :

And create my first real aquascape.

So, I created this thread to have your help/suggestion, like what type of style can I go for, applying rules of aquascaing (focal points...), choosing the right plants etc, and of course I will show you the tank progress.

Let's see what I already got :

- The plants in the tank are : cabomba, a sort of cryptos, hygrophila polysperma.

- I've got 3 little seiryu stone and a spiderwood (I don't know if I will reuse them but why not)

- For the light, I don't remember the brand but It is a bit cheap and I'm planning to change it (my budget for the light is around 250€).

- I've got Co2 but I didn't use it yet :

- I've got these two for plants care but I don't know if they gonna be usefull actually :

- For the pump It is a JBL CristalProfi GreenLine :

- And finally the soil is from Ista I think :

So from there I want to build something new, I don't have any preferences for a style I just want to create something good, and applied aquascaping rules.

The first step would be I think, to choose a style that can be done in that tank dimension and see what can I keep or remove from what I already have ? So what do you think ?

I've got Co2 but I didn't use it yet

work out the price of replacement clyinders as 0.5l might not last that long! will it fit a FE?

Yeah the co2 might not last long but I will start with that at the beginning and see for a alternative in the future and what do you mean by saying "will it fit a FE" ?

The model of my pump is the greenline e702.

so 700LPH most folk aim for x10 tank size to filter output your is a little short but folk do still get good plant growth with lower rates OFC optimising the filter output method to get the best tank turnover will help OFC eg spray bar/ lily pies

I like it. <"Fish are generally happier in "jungles">, and it reduces the amount of maintenance you need to do.
