Recurring sticky algae growth after trimming plants?

Hi guys,

Just had a quick question. For the last month or two every time I trim any plants in the aquarium this weird brown fuzzy sticky algae growth comes out and none of my clean up crew / fish feed on it so it tends to looks unsightly and get denser itself. Any advice on what it is and how to get rid of it/ prevent it? I never used to get this algae when I trimmed plants before and none of my parameters have changed if anything I have less fish than before and still religiously use EI dosing with same duration lights.

I have attached some images below where you can see the algae on the moss but it kind of grows on all sorts of plants when I cut them not just moss:
