Not really sure where to post this but was very happy this morning to spot a "Rare Bird" to the UK, only managed to grab a quick photo of this before the canal was mobbed by people (someone must have posted on facebook or similar)

Cool sighting! Those are possible, but very rare, in our area during migration. They don't breed here, but we routinely see migrating Common Loon (Gavia immer) on our lake.
