Hi just wanted to know if i should leave the carbon in my filter when i set up my tank?

Depends on what your trying to achieve mate? Clarity or blackwater? Planted or none planted?

Better off with purigen, and taking it out I would have said. Get in touch with Antipofish (chris) and get some of that instead 😉

Regards,

Thanks Whitey,im due to start planting my tank tomorrow and i was just thinking if i should use it as it came with the filter,if it would affect any of my plants or the nutrients in the water line if it doesnt then i might aswel leave it in.
I have seen that post on here form Chris i will consider that in the future thanks

I agree with what Chris said. If you are dosing a large amount of fertilisers eg. EI, then you don't need to worry about carbon removing them as you will already have more than enough. I use activated carbon and change it every couple of months.
