Question about algae

Hi everyone!

I have a question about algae appearing in a tank. If algae appears in your tank, should you interpret it as a sign that there is something wrong with your tank and set-up? I don't have a lot of algae, just the occasional green spot on the glass which I remove with a magnet cleaner. Does this mean there is an imbalance in my tank? Cheers!

I am sort of learning to love a little algae example on pebbles it gives it a natural look. Even the best lushest aquariums get algae keeping it to acceptable level is the aim
