Hi everyone!
Anyone know how I should go about taking cuttings and re-planting my Lobelia Cardinalis? I haven't kept this plant before so im not sure how i should go about doing this?

Cheers everyone!

Not sure where you are from? but in the UK you can buy a propagator heated for little as £15.00 compost £2.50 trays £1.00 water pump spray £3.00
I've just started so I'm sure people on here will have done this before?
I fill the tray with water turn it on cover on vents closed and wait 🙂

Thanks for the reply Jay. I think however ive used the wrong terminology on this one. Im just looking to spread the plants already in my tank, im not sure how to take cuttings that will root basically.

Its me being a numpty!
I was told to cut from the ends of new shoots and just replant them any roots from the plant trim them back but leave a little bit of root as this helps the plant to re grow new roots for more new shoots.
Leave the old plant if its melting a bit from shading as it will shoot more for replanting.
I'm using the propregator to get faster shoots as I don't have to worry about co2!

Haven't had experience with those plants but most others you just let them float for a few weeks, when they start to grow roots you can plant them.

Hi.I'm currently growing/trimming it.
Depends what look you're after, but basically treat it like most other stems.
Keep it bushy,by removing the growing tip.
I tend to trim,so that any new cutting has 6 leaves.
Remove the bottom pair of leaves, and replant the bare stem. They'll regrow new roots just fine IME.
Nice plant.Popular in Dutch style tanks.I like it as an alternative to S.Repens, which I just can't seem to grow

Thanks everyone. I actually plant it next to my S.Repens to change things up a little.
It was actually a lot easier to split and replant then I thought. I just uprooted the main plant and split of a few shorter plantlets from the main stem.
