Afternoon all,

Amidst the growing collection of wood I seem to have acquired, there's a piece I plan on using in an upcoming project. However, the last time it was used the substrate it was in turned anaerobic and stained the base of the wood black (with the typical eggy smell). The wood has since dried out completely but the smell remains. I can attempt to remove the affected area, but I'm unsure that it's possible given the shape.

Assuming I can't remove it, what would people recommend doing? Should I avoid the wood (it's only a small part that's affected), or will it be safe to use?

Cheers,

Alex

That's a huge relief to hear, thanks Greenfinger. Expert tip on the moss by the way, I might start applying that to my life philosophy too haha 😉
