I don't have experience with it, so feel free to ignore my comment; but id hazard a guess that if the surface is textured like normal wood, moss would grow on it with the aid of some glue and/or fishing line...
you'll have to judge the particular piece but the resin ornaments + moss I've seen, only point of real attachment is with the glue - lfs has a few displays
- exception: some ornamental products have a roughened surface similar to lava rock
I suspect that Anubias & Fern will do better, ie anything that can actually wrap around the "wood"
Java moss is also good at "wrapping" but it just pulls smoothly free of most ornaments
Nice, that glue and/or fishing line would work fine.
And if the surface is not rough meaby I could use a file (tool) to make it more rough.
So when the surface is sufficient I''ll aply the 'moss and yogurt' way for a Dry start
