Plants growing on Wood?

I'm looking for some different type of plants that grow on wood. My current setup is based on only using some very large pieces of bogwood. I currently have is a range of Anubias, Java Ferns, Bolbitus heudelotii, Moss, Hygrophila pinnatifida.

Are there others that will adapt and grow on wood? For example I've seen Crypts mentioned a couple of times but never seen images of it or references to what type of crypt.

That's stunning! Are those actually growing by themselves on that log (the crypts and pogostemon) or have you put some planting media inside the wood?

The new setup with wood only came about me getting tired of the mess plant substrate created, specially with ciclids and loaches who love to dig. So now I use only sand at the bottom with lots of bogwood pieces that act as a large root system. But wanted some variety in the plants I use. I can't really fit any substrate into the pieces of wood I have though.

I always liked crypts which is something I miss by giving up substrate.

Just read your log which answered me question. Such a great idea, wish I could do the same but I'm using some very hard bogwood which now have a lot of long established big ferns on them.
